I started the Juniper Vale project in 2016 after meeting the extremely talented brother duo, Vian and Hein. Vian is an incredible songwriter, artist and producer and Hein is a world class illustrator and builder of worlds. I immediately teamed up with Vian to write songs about the experience of “home” and then worked alongside Hein to create a world where these songs could live. Together, Hein and I created a story about a girl named Sarah Jane and her pet turtle friend, Senelala, who live in a dystopian world called “Juniper Vale”. Sarah and Senelala set out on an adventure to find a place where they feel “home”, ultimately realizing that maybe home is something we create for ourselves and carry with us wherever we go.

We created this first edition comic book to accompany the release of my very first album “Everything is Color” in 2018.
